Release date: August 25, 2008
This is a track that we had been playing in our live show for a little while but never released. We re-recorded the vocals and made it into a finished record. We also made a video for this which features a very lifelike 3D version of Rex.
Release date: September 3, 2007
Circulate came out on Kitsuné. It opens with beats a bit like an old breakdance record, and then goes into a lasery sequencer section. It took almost as long to make the image of Rex bursting through the 12” cover as it did to make the track.
The B-side is Italian Blond.
Release date: October 30, 2006
Maximize was our next release with KOMPAKT and features a speedboat on the cover, this was drawn from a toy speedboat. The 12” came with two B-sides: Sequencer and Every Day Could Be Our Last Day.
Release date: September 10, 2004
This was our second release with KOMPAKT. The lead lines are from the Korg 700s and the bassline is from the ARP 2600 which we had just bought. The ARP looks like a piece of 60s telephony equipment crossed with a suitcase.
Release date: January 26, 2004
This was our first single and it came out on the German label KOMPAKT. The A-side Prototype was made using just the Korg 700S synthesizer and two drum sounds – a kick drum and a big clap sampled from another record. The Korg 700s had no CV inputs or MIDI so the running sequences were made using the ‘repeat’ function.
The B-side We Live In Daddy’s Car also used just the Korg 700s, but by this point we had modified it so that it could be sequenced over MIDI.
